OUR LEADERSHIP TEAM
Our Leadership Team is the governing body of the church that is elected by the members of Hope East Queens. The first Leadership Team will be elected once we have formalized partnership and have solidified ourselves as a church plant in Bayside, New York. For now, we have a temporary Leadership Team in place (listed alphabetically):
David “Dux” Jung Pastor
David (a/k/a “Dux”) spent most of his life in Eastern Queens where he eventually discovered a burning passion to plant a church in the area. From 2005-2008 he served as a youth teacher where he first recognized his calling for ministry, and then from 2008-2013 he served as a youth pastor. David graduated from Stony Brook University (BA in ’04) and St. John’s Law School (JD in ’08). He finished his one year church planting training with the Fellows Program through Redeemer City to City in 2016. He also studied at Alliance Theological Seminary. He enjoys writing fictional novels, watching Star Wars (repeatedly), and spending time with his lovely wife Jany and two beautiful children Emmett and Lucy. He is a diehard Mets, Jets and Knicks fan, and thus has been trained at a young age to live a life of faith. firstname.lastname@example.org

Bryant Nam Pastor
Bryant was born in Los Angeles, California, however he has spent the entirety of his life in Queens, New York. Flushing has been his hometown since he was four years old. He attended the University of Valley Forge, pursuing his studying in Pastoral Ministry. He served as the Youth Pastor from 2007 to 2016. He also loves to hideaway at cafés for good coffee and great books (or comics). Secretly, he aspires to be a professional gamer. In order to balance his nerdy side and love for fast food, he tries to stay in shape by playing basketball competitively (although to be honest, his skill level doesn’t match his intensity). Most importantly, he spends a lot of his time seeking new adventures and stories with his best friend and wife, Kristie. firstname.lastname@example.org
Laura Speiller Pastoral Counselor
Laura was born and raised in Queens, NY. She and hubby Howie raised their now-grown family in Flushing. Laura has been involved in various arenas of urban ministry over the past two decades, some of which include serving on the pastoral staff at New Life Fellowship Church and the Ministry Fellows faculty and staff at City Seminary of New York before transitioning vocationally to marriage and family therapy, where she is currently a therapist at Redeemer Counseling Services. Laura earned a Masters in Urban Ministry from Westminster Theological Seminary and a Masters in Christian Counseling from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.
