Missional Communities are gatherings in which we invite people to serve the needs of a community through word and service. We invite you to get involved in serving the needs and providing hope to our city, neighborhood and context! Here are some ways to get involved:

1. The 111th Precinct

the 111th Precinct serves the areas of Bayside, Douglaston, Little Neck, Auburndale, Hollis Hills, and Fresh Meadows. They hold a Community Council Meeting at the 111 Precinct on 45-06 215th Street, Bayside, NY on the first Tuesday of every month at 7:30 pm. Members of Hope East Queens seek to attend these meetings to partner with local law enforcement and help heal the tension that exists over policing. Contact (Morris Bankson): los.bankston@gmail.com

2. International Students, Inc. (ISI)

ISI is an organization that serves the community of international students at several universities throughout New York City. Hope East Queens wishes to partner with ISI to send volunteers to help facilitate smaller groups of discussion on Friday nights. Any interested volunteer is welcome and will be properly trained and equipped to help! Contact (Vivian Tong): tongviv@gmail.com

3. Operation Christmas Child

Operation Christmas Child is run by the organization Samaritan's Purse and is the world's largest Christmas project of its kind; during the months of November and December we partner with Samaritan's Purse in having individuals donate gift-filled shoeboxes to demonstrate God's love in a tangible way to children in need all around the world.  Contact (David Jung): david.jung@hopechurchnyc.org

Our Homeless Outreach is an outreach to the homeless living in the city where they are provided with donated supplies (washcloths, food, clothes, etc.) for daily living. The aim of this outreach is to encourage individuals to carry items with them to lovingly give to a homeless person and then try to establish communication/relationship. Contact (Anna Lee): anna.leee47@gmail.com

5. The Lord's Table Homeless Ministry

The Lord's Table ministry is a once a month event on Sundays at 4 pm where 6-8 of us go to cook and clean at a homeless shelter in Flushing, NY. Contact (Anna Lee): anna.leee47@gmail.com

Spark Packs is a initiative to create more interactions between Christians and the poor through assembling homeless care-packages for individuals to distribute during their daily lives. Contact: sparkpacks@hopechurchnyc.org

We partner with the organization LifeRice to purchase and pack nutritious meals (rice, soy, vitamins & flavoring, vegetables) that can be stored and shipped to those in need in Haiti.
